First experience of going to theater in America

Last week my classmate, Jun gave me two tickets to Landmark Theater for the opera, Tosca. Jun of course would bring a male friend to go with her to go there. Of course, refusing to admit being inferior, I had to find female friends. Really embarrassed that first two girls(one is my sister) refused me. Zarina said she would go if I kept being rejected. So obvious that she agreed.
It’s said that American people take theatergoing very serious. They would properly dressed. So lucky that about 2 months ago I received my first suit in my life, which was mailed from my parents. Though it had been 2 months, I still got no chance to put it on. And that night, it surely would be my first time to wear a suit in public. I also told Zarina to wear properly. Later I was told that she had trying dresses for hours about this event. O(∩_∩)O When I saw her that night, she was in a red dress, black stockings, high-heel shoes. Fancy that.
Finally, I was in Landmark Theater. Gentleman looked, speaking light English, still, companied by a nice lady, and that situations, all gave me an feeling that I was back into the age of La Traviata.
The opera, Tosca, itself was also wonderful. The only pity was that the it’s not in English, and I had to look at the title most of the time. The most impressive thing about the opera was that stage set, which was so real. The music was great, too.

I hate Novels

But for special purposes, I never read novels. I could even count the books I had ever read. In my primary school, I read the first novel in my life, The Count of Monte Cristo. Of course, it’s a simplified version. And it’s about six years later I read novel again. That’s was about my 11th grade. Because I need to read more to improve my English. I bought many English novels (simplified versions again), including David Copperfield, Jane Eyre, Oliver Twist. It’s about more than 20 masterpieces. Now I could hardly believe that I read so many novels. Honestly speaking, I do love these novels and I got my English proved by reading these. But it could not stop me from hating reading novels. I prefer reading some abstract textbooks. Recently, I am required to read a novel The dew breaker. Another novel! And a novel which I never heard before, and a novel whose chapters are barely connected. Anyway, I have to read it. Such a burden.

Justice, makes people agree with the government, so they are willing to live with it, die with it, without fear.

Leader, shall be of wisdom, credit, mercy, bravery, and toughness.
Principle, is to build up a system, to verify everyone’s duty, to assign resources.
All leaders master these 5 criteria. Master them, then win; Not, then lose.

War in Iraq, US won in every thing but justice.

Shoe Is Thrown at Chinese Premier

Almost the same thing happened after former American President Bush was thrown with a pair of shoes. Days ago, when Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao was giving his speech in Cambridge University on China during his visiting to Europe, he was thrown with a shoe by an Cambridge University Student. It is said that he did this out of his anger about the dictatorship.
The audience present were all angry about such mean action, and shouted out together “Shame of you” to that student. After the audience calmed down, Chinese Premier resumed his speech calmly, slowly by “Teachers and students, this mean trick can’t stop the friendship between Chinese and English people.” This immediately cause the audience’s strong applause. And he went on his speech as if nothing had happened.
We can compare Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and former US Present George Bush’s different reactions. At that time Bush said he was pleased to see that people in Iraq still had the right to throw shoes. George Bush tended to deal such situation in a humorous way, to distract people’s attention and then go back to his topic while Wen Jiabao took it seriously and brought everyone to the conformity to despise such action.
If top governors like Wen Jiabao and George Bush can represent their countries, then we can say that they can also represent the countries’ value, tradition and culturel.
So, through these two people, I think we can find something different between China and US in term of value, tradition and culture.
